Blues festivals feature prominent artists from all over the globe. There is no shortage of these big names at this year’s Fest in Chicago. I look forward to Ruthie Foster, Larkin Poe, Bettye LaVette, Latimore and Mike Welch.
Other than online, I have never seen the Larkin Poe*show and I am looking forward to it. Our own Bobby Rush and the ever-young Jimmy Johnson will be headliners at the fest, and we will say “Welcome Home” to Charley Musselwhite.

Mike Welch won Best Guitar Instrumentalist at this year's Blues Music Awards."Lordy

This year’s Fest has a wonderful lineup of our Chicago Blues Artists. I was going through the shoebox and found some photos of just some of the local artists playing. I apologize that I could not find everyone’s picture, but I’m pretty sure I have them somewhere.
As always, please feel free to send updated press kits to Lordy@ChicagoBluesBeat.com. When ChicagoBluesBeat started there were not too many around, but then there was no Facebook either.
The titles and captions to these pictures can be seen at Chicago Blues Gallery.
I have prepared a Festival Guide and Planner that list shows by artist, day or time as well as an understandable stage map.

REMEMBER! There is much more to Chicago Blues Fest than Millennium Park.
Many venues, even some with only occasional Blues will have blues music, Fest parties, parties during the day and after-parties. In addition, there will be parties.
I hope to get you more info about what’s going on around town that weekend.
Peace.
